I love the idea of chickens on a Wavering marker for Pikeman's Lament!  lol

The armoured pikemen look great. I've been distracted by scenery again but will have enough painted figures soon for one side of a full 24pt PL force; various bits have appeared in my LPL11 entries over the last few weeks. I also just got another small order from Warlord with another sprue of pike & shot, the priests/ranters for fun, and the generic mounted commander figure who should make a great low-level PL Officer.

Really enjoyed building these Warlord ECW Cavalry.
Just need to get my act together and paint them.
Sure they will add flavour to the game.

They look great! How do they compare sizewise with Bicorne?
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Dont know James as the foot troops I have are from Empress. But they do compare favourably to those.

Planning on first game next weekend.
Slowly painting more figures, by adding a bit of paint every night.
Photos to follow of the progress so far.

It looks like you'll being using individually based figures, but the friend could have some imagination and decide to scale his perspective up a bit.

Looking forward to seeing more of what you're up to here!

Finally got round to painting more figures.

Undercoated the cavalry with Halfords camo brown, and mounted them on lolly sticks from a craft shop, so that I can pick them up and handle them easily.

Then painted horses in batches of three's. All nice and dark colours.
Final touch for that day was the horse blankets and a couple of metal helmets.

Then the real deal for this past weekend, as I finished 24 musketeers, ready for the planned first game of Pikeman's lament this coming Sunday.
Talking to our expert on ECW, he's told me that uniforms were uncommon on the units, so I went for a 'mix and match' look on them. I must admit, it would have been easier going for one uniform for all, but at least this way I can use them as I want, as musketeers or forlorn hope.

On the photos I have combined them with the pikemans that I did earlier, as I think it gives a better look. Just need some standard bearers now.

Finally an officer and old sarge, on the ale.

Enjoy  ;)

And there was I thinking it would be impressive if I got my 12 Pike & 12 Muskets done in time for the weekend.

And so it would be Pete. At this rate we can almost do Edge Hill at 1-1 scale...NOT.

Very good paintjob! Especially the officer!  :-*
