March or Die French Foreign legion Range available again
« on: June 09, 2017, 02:33:19 PM »
hello
while surfing on the web i just discovered that the Redoubt 28mm classical French Foreign Legion range is again, after a long time OOP, available...they are good figs ..trough which i based the majority of my FFL and Tuareg Armies ...they are again available and it seem that some few new subjects have been added like a camel ambulance with 2 wounded legionaires and some artillerymen plus crew...the Tuaregs...which if we want be historically correct in our games..have nothing to do with FFL ...as they populated the deep Sahara , Niger , Fezzan ecc.fought instead  of Légionaires VS the more expendable and more fitted Tirailleurs Sénégalais or Compagnies Sahariennes..are in fact their best and detailed range...from my experience also if known to be quite chunky and large figures..once painted those Redoubt Légionaires and Tuaregs fit OK with other ranges..and they seem to be the same size of the recently produced Artizan Design types

I saw these at Salute and they are superb. Completely new moulds I guess. They looked a bit smaller and a lot less chunky than the earlier models.

The tuareg figures look very nice.  I just tried to order them but had lots of problems with the website obstinately unwilling to allow me to get past my 15-year-past address-and-password information.  I finally worked it all out by remembering the ancient password and going completely through the ordering process for a second time.

That is also a good price for individual figures too.

The photos on the website - the figures look awful.  Are they what they are actually selling or did you see something different?

Those are definitely not the figures I saw at Salute. Don't know what happened.

Hmmmph, seems I may have ordered from ancient stock.  Sent an eMail to Redoubt asking to swap the new sculpts for the ones ordered.  Since I haven't gotten my Paypal invoice yet, that may work.

The figures depicted in the images are the original range; a product of their times. The natives are easier to tolerate than the French (loose robes and turbans forgive inferior sculpting better than European uniforms). The rifles still stand out by their crude workmanship, though.

I saw them at Partizan and they looked good, but I have never seen the original older range  so can't compare.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

It has been a while since this thread has been active, but could these be the "March or Die" figures you saw? They're Artizan and are quite nice:
