28mm (1/56th) scale T-62 MBT from Sloppy Jalopy

The latest kit to be added to Sloppy Jalopys Cold War range is the Soviet T62 Main Battle Tank.

I've just put together a quick article about how I assembled and painted mine (for Syrian rather than Soviet service).

To think,  I waited six years for that.   lol

Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

Glad your wait is finally over, and we have lots of them in stock, so just give us a shout and we can get some rumbling their way to you!

Sorry but no thanks. To be honest it looks bloody ropey. Leaving aside what looks like a rough as guts casting, the suspension is wrong, the turret shape is wrong, as is the main gun barrel and Christ only knows what happened with the front mudguards. The hull sits too high and I don't know what has happened with the glacis plate. To top it off there are a few detail issues.

Sorry to carp but I can't believe that Ian Crouch was responsible for that. I've bought a number of SJ's vehicles in the past and was very happy with them but that really is sub-par. I suppose I'll either wait fir the Blitzkreig one or go 1/48.

Sorry you don't like it! But glad you like our other stuff... :)

I can only assure you that this is a genuine Crouchie model, our struggle since we bought Chieftain has been to convert from the uneconomic metal versions to a decent resin one, hence the slow progress.

I think with this particular model the key is in how the tracks are sited on the hull body. Below are a couple of photos of an early production model, obvs with no metals added. The left hand track is glued I think in a better position than the right hand one.

Hope this helps.

Have you got the right turret?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-62
It looks nothing like any turret in the Osprey New Vanguard book.

Yeah, that turret is the wrong shape for a t-62... looks more like a 54/55
