Great work!  I did some play testing of the rules and I was really impressed.

Cool stuff.

Out of interest AB, how comes you went with 15mm for a skirmish game?

hmmmmm....

So after about 10 years of 6mm as a job, the desire to play 6mm had long gone.
It is often said that if you do your hobby as your job for long enough, it is no longer a hobby.

I had not played any 6mm games in ages nor had any desire to.

So I thought I would try something different to play and keep AB as the day job (along with The Wargames Website).

So I had a look around for what to do.
It needed to be figure lite so that suggested skirmish and not really sci-fi as that is the day job.
So why not fantasy?

I had a look around and saw the Copplestone barbarians and that was that!
:D

I started making some desert buildings and figured I may as well mould them and offer them for sale.
So I did, then I made a few more and moulded them, and then some more, and then some figures, and now some more figures.

I then outgrew the rules I was using (they were great, but not meaty enough for my needs and I had also made a lot of house rules and changes to various mechanics that rather than keep changing them until they were what I wanted, I started my own set)

:D

Thanks for your reply AB :D

Ooo I don't think I have seen those before (goes off to have a butchers)...nice. I have been entertaining the idea of a 15mm Heroquest but I've been having difficulty finding decent 15mm sculpts. Hmm maybe a combo of yours and his... I'm still not completely convinced about 15mm minis as have never owned or painted one.

Sounds like a pretty mad journey, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

I put off painting the Copplestone 15mm figures for several years, but actually they are just like small 28s and very easy and enjoyable to paint. They’re rather more like 18mm than true 15s.

I’m guessing Angel Barracks’ figures will be much the same given that he’s made them to fit.

I guess I was wondering if 15mm minis seem a bit lost in a skirmish game though I suppose it means you can build a small town on a board without taking up loads of room.

Apart from that no concerns really, just generally in a gaming funk at the mo and thinking about other possible scales and whatnot. I have collected 28-32mm mostly, though have recently dabbled in 40mm. A few years ago I sculpted some 54mm minis and would love to do more sculpting for another project I am slowly working on and have been entertaining thoughts of other scales. Just playing around with lots of ideas and hoping inspiration strikes.

Random thoughts:

A great many people think 6mm is lacking in detail.
I went out of my way to release some very detailed and dare I say it cool 6mm models.
I wonder if the notion that 6mm has no detail is due to the vast majority of it being ranks and ranks of 6mm models painted to a rough standard?
I see plenty of 6mm that is sprayed black then colour just dabbed/brushed onto the raised areas and then inkwashed.
For me this hides the quality of the sculpting and can put people off.

I am also wondering if this applies to 15mm?

If you have the notion there are some cool 15mm fantasy topics I can point you in the direction of that may inspire?

Inspire away I'd love to see them.

I have been looking and spotted some nice 15mm paint jobs so your probably right that just with any mini a poor paint job lets them down. I was looking at some Orcs on RPE that look quite good.

Out of interest what size bases do you use on your minis?

I assume you still use an armature when sculpting 15mm, any WIP pics or greens you wouldn't mind sharing.

Do you think you'd cover any temple-dungeon adventures in your game?

I only make the terrain and buildings, I am no sculptor!
:(
(maybe one day)

Here is a topic that follows the start of Crom's Anvil from pretty much day one:

https://www.thewargameswebsite.com/forums/topic/abs-15mm-fantasy-thing/

It is a big old topic with 31 pages and over 1200 replies, so you may want to set some time aside for it.

Here are a few other desert flaoured topics  that may be of value:
