Another fun game of Legion. The Rebels went with the T-47 and operative Luke thus putting half their points into two miniatures.

Turned out okay as one squad of ordinary Rebel trooper had the game of their lives eliminating a squad of stormies with their first shot getting 11 hits (without aiming either). They then went on to destroy the snipers nest, soften up Bossk, knock off a Shoretrooper or two and claim an objective with only one loss. Luke did alright and cleaned up the Transoshan Terror and an injured Iden Versio before going down fighting. The T-47, as usual, did not justify its points cost.

The imps did okay with a dewback charging ahead and drawing rebel attention for the first few moves but luck was against them and the day ended up in a draw with each side claiming and objective and Leia surviving the worst the Shoretrooper mortar could do to on the last turn to contest the third objective.

Above: T-47 - lots of points little results

Above: Luke vs Versio. Both are wounded but when Luke swings his sabre it's only ever going to have one outcome

As ever, all good silly fun in a tight gaming system which continues to deliver. I've played around 20 games of Legion and am still really enjoying it.

A game of Battlegroup, where the Germans bumbled an ambush against a rush of Soviet armour.

Played an outdoor ECW game on Sunday.  Oddly enough, tangentially related to Star Wars as we used Star Wars Miniature Battles from 1993.  :D

Three great games of To The Strongest this Sunday, all Sassanid Persians versus 100YW English.

I think it fair to say that the Sassanids did very well indeed, winning all three games! Here the Sassanid escorted elephants punch a hole in the English line.

Back of Beyond: Somewhere in China

British Army & archaeologists vs Warlord Chinese: Sir Doug Test-Pitt removing valuable artifacts for onward transport to the safety of the V&A.  Only slightly incovenienced by the local Warlord, Lo Fat Chow (Although he did manage to kill Major Denis Bloodnok, British 2IC)

So we played the first scenario from the TFL pint sized campaign Operation Martlet. This is the table set up for the first game.
The British have to get a unit off the German edge of the table to win, but the British deployment is marred by an early morning mist and the German deployment by a heavy barrage.
In the first game all the Btitish rifle sections got lost in the mist, so that attack was quickly called off, in the second game the infantry made an appearance but the Senior Leaders went AWOL, both of them.
The Germans managed to deploy well before the Brits could get into a good position so again the attack was called off.
Two frustrating games for the Brits and the CO is not a happy bunny, at least theres no mist in the third game :)

A Pulp Alley game at the club today. The spies are ambushed as they drive through the desert. Their prisoner, the antiquities dealer, flees. The sinister floozy is in hot pursuit!
