Thanks for the encouragement, gents! Much appreciated. :)

Re the DG colour scheme: since the new Plague Marines are clad in Mk III armour, I entertain(ed) the idea to recycle those guys as another faction for my Horus Herey "kill team" collection. In direct comparison, though, they dwarf their untainted brethren…

Yeah, bloated Warp magic chaotification blah…

Nicely done :-*

The Death Guard could pass as the Pallid Hand Vectorum

Thanks, syrinx0 and Corso! :)
Ploughing on…

Half-squad of Reivers. Like to imagine them as some sort of Light Bobs rather than stealthy guys, with a bit of leeway for individualised gear. So I strayed slightly off the intended uniform look for my Primaris marines and painted on some minor 'chapter-specific' details. (Also big thanks to Vanvlak for providing a couple of Salamanders transfer sheets.)

You may also notice that I didn't follow the now official jet-black skin colour for Salamanders marines. I get the fire giant reference (hence the sergeant's fiery orange hair), but to me it looks a bit daft. From a background perspective: perhaps those NuMarinesTM haven't been to Nocturne yet and so didn't get that distinct sunburn. As I'll limit unhelmeted figures to a minimum, it won't be as obvious.

Next were some Poxwalkers. Did I mention my great distaste for all things Nurgle? Well, my only excuse are these new hyper-detailed models. I mean, look at that…

Still aimed for a fairly fast-paced approach. Skin colours were stippled on for a patchy effect, then blisters, guts, horns, and maggots painted in pale ochre and off-white, finally the whole model heavily washed/glazed with red, purple, green, and yellow – done. Not the most brillant results, but good enough for such cannon-fodder.

Hope to finish the Plaguemarines soon, so the small box set will be done and I may get a first game.

Excellent stuff! And for such a quick paint job and for someone who doesn't like Nurgle, those Pox-walkers are superb! :-*

The Reivers came out well, as did the Plague Marines; and I am now itching to work on those plaguewalkers too.
Glad the transfers came in handy  :D

Down to snail speed. Must be the Nurgle vibe. ::)

However, with these guys…

… the mini starter set is ready.

I may still change the Plaguemarines' colour scheme a bit, but meanwhile I'm able to play some introductory scenarios. Been over a decade since my last game of 40k. And, oh well, still to open up the big box as advertised at the start of this thread. lol

Wow! These are superb! :o

You just need a board to go with them now, as opposed to that mat! ;)

Many thanks both. :)

Paper mat and 'terrain' aren't ideal for sure but fine for a kitchen table sized game. Since there's no room for a large or permanent setup (and little more for storing terrain) I'm happy with that solution for now.

Both factions looks splendid! Love the green of the Primaris and Nurgle fellows look quite glorious in their nurglishness :D

So next the big box or some vehicles?

Stunning work!

I am building myself up for painting my Death Guard from Dark Imperium and just picked up the Start Collecting Nurgle Deamons box set :)

I really like the colour scheme you have used for your Plague Marines.  It will be the first time in years I am painting something that are not Loyalist nice & neat good guys and am looking forward to the change.

Thanks for sharing  :)

Well done!  :-*

I noticed you used foundry paints - I am liking them a lot, much better than citadel
