New member and some photos of my scenery
« on: July 05, 2017, 02:20:47 PM »
Hi folks,

I'm new to the Lead Adventure Forums, although I've been wargaming for around 25 years.  Current favourite games are Battlegroup in 20mm and Blitzkrieg Commander 2 in 15mm, which is why I'm posting this in the WW2 forums!  I do also play Saga, LOTR and some other games from time to time.

Earlier this year I decided to try my hand at starting up a wargames scenery and terrain venture, with an emphasis on quality and realism.  It's called Take Cover Scenics - everything is hand-made, and most of my work is on a commission basis.

Here are a few photos which show my roads, a couple of vineyards and my latest commission build that I finished yesterday - a 28mm Hop Field.

First of all, 20mm Normandy-style Bocage Roads modelled with wheel ruts, tank tracks and with attached hedges.  20mm US troops shown for scale:

Next, some 20mm vineyards that I did as a commission for a customer.  Shown with 20mm Germans.

Same vineyards, different angle and 20mm Germans...

A wintery ploughed field with 20mm Sherman tank...

And finally, the 28mm Hop Field with 28mm Germans...

That's all for now.  Hope you like the photos!  If you like what you see and would like to see more, please feel free to check out my website (www.takecoverscenics.co.uk) or my facebook page (www.facebook.com/takecoverscenics)

Thanks for looking and feel free to comment!

Cheers,

John

Thanks guys - glad you like the photos.  Have to say that I love building the vineyards - just starting 4 small ones for Italy/Crete this week.

You learn something every day. I never knew hops looked like that. Do they grow up a columnar frame or something? Interesting
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.
