Great idea! I also like the Lead Legion, though the Lead Hoarders amuses me too. Perhaps their home planet could be Attica,  because most of our lead is in the attic?

Don't forget the leaders, Captain Blood, Techpriest Bibbly, Librarian Westphalia Christopheles, Chaplain Malamute, and so on.

Once this takes on a bit more of a finalized shape, maybe there'll be enough interest in doing a painting club for it?

That is an excellent idea.

If they make it a painting club, will the old first generation plastic space marines be acceptable? I have some of these, it would be nice to use them after all this time...

The Chapter motto should be "We deal in lead, friends!"

Knowing my luck, I would throw the pin and still be holding the grenade - gulp!

Should all the weapons be extra heavy?

Lead Legion sounds straightforward and to the point.

Regards officers etc, should there be a caste system or ranking system or a bit of both?

First post modified.

Re. Chapter symbol, could just be a black logo (tower with a black circle behind it, the whole shoulder pad would be #f6f6d6 (Vallejo Light Flesh) anyway. YPU - able to provide an updated version?

A 3D shoulder pad would be cool, but not needed for me (most of my guys will be the 2nd edition classics).

How about for a motto, "Aurum in plumbum"?

"Gold into lead". lol

Ancient Greek word for lead is: mólybdos. Chrysopoeia ("making gold") is turning lead into gold. Molybdopoeia? Molybia?

Well you've piqued my interest in this. I'll put forward a small squad (maybe some scouts or a small assault squad)
I like Lead Legion.
