Recommendations for 28mm Williamite-era Irish Rapparees?
« on: July 05, 2017, 10:55:09 PM »
I was wondering if anyone had any insight into figure options for 28mm circa 1690 Irish rapparees? I know Reiver makes rapparees but they don't match the Warfare miniatures I have. I was looking at the Eureka Miniatures Montrose ECW Irish, which have smocks and trews. I was thinking that Irish farmers in 1690 would probably look similar - I could change hats and throw in some Warfare officers and NCOs as local gentry to lead the mass. Does anybody have ideas on representing rapparee bands?

the King Phillip's War pilgrims from Brigade Games might do the trick, these are similar in height to warfare miniatures however are a bit stockier. A few of them have Indian leggings and moccasins but it wouldn't take much work with a scalpel and a file to make these look the part; you would have to make your own shillelaghs though.

cheers Pete
