Great sculpting on Sven - love it.

It's not big, or clever, but let's do it anyway

As it happens, I have Harker as a WIP on the table now :) . He's getting a shoulder mounted heavy bolter and a tea mug.

I've also ordered a Corvus Blackstar to convert into a Valkyrie... and I am planning to add a Platoon Commander and Command Squad to the little band to make a vanguard detachment.

Should be fun :)

Preliminary symbol removal on the Corvus Blackstar is complete :) ... I just need to sand a few things down and it will be ready to be assembled :) ...

The Corvus Valkyrie has started :) .

Ah, you already got it! That was fast delivery. What do you think of the size, pretty good for squats if you ask me.

Looks so good with the unnecessary =I= signs.

GW should have provided the kit with few different sets to alter from in the beginning me thinks.

How much work was it to remove all the inquisition symbols and such? I'd been looking at that model at my local game store thinking it'd be a nice lander for my Rogue Trader campaign, but then though carving off all the inquisition stuff might be a) a pain in the butt and b) ruin the model... but you've done a GREAT job of it, so I'm left wondering how much of a pain in the butt was it to do that..?

Great to see this kit anonymised. Really like seeing it with all the =I= smoothed away until you've got the core design down.

The only Inquisition symbols that I removed were two on the tail which I clipped off with side cutters (SC), then trimmed off with a scalpel (KN) and filled with green stuff (GS).

The front doors just had the skulls snipped off the Inq symbol with a SC and then a plate of plasticard was glued on top. The gaps were filled with GS.

The big I on the top and the script on the wings were just filled filled with GS and sanded flat with fine emery paper.

I clipped a few extra bits off (wing eagles, skulls on the reard door hinges and top hatch) with SC and then trimmed with a KN before filling with GS (as required).

All told, actual contact time was probably about an hour and a half... but I had to wait for things to dry in between filling and sanding. It's very easy to do and completely changes the look of the dropship :) .

This, with your fine work has convinced me to consider this model for purchase somewhere down the line. Because the basic shape is pretty dang nice!

Thanks :)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Cool :)

When the kit first got released, I fell in love with it but didn't have anything to fit it in with... and I really didn't like all the symbols all over it (which were further highlighted by the garish painting on the GW site) so I didn't bother getting one. This current little side-project cried out for a 'chopper' so I thought that it was time to finally get one. I am very glad that I did :) . It's a lovely little kit, crisply cast and very straightforward to put together. If you plan to remove symbols, i would definitely do it prior to assembly though :) .

I'm afraid that's too much work for me currently!  lol

And I'm earmarking my Corvus for a female Inquisitor and her retinue but it would be nice to have an unmarked ride for them... but maybe she likes the awe factor with skulls and whatnots... who am I to blame her ;)
