Thanks for the information guys. I'm trying so hard to not start another period, but picked up "The Sioux Indian Wars" and "Quanah Parker; the Last Comanche Chief" (I think that's the title) and its got me itching to try out the Indian Wars.

Wow, I was just looking at that book last night...

As my wife says, "Books are good, you can never have too many. After all, they never go out of style or go bad...". She is pretty much the same way about my miniature collecting. She should be sainted....

110% Agree, if you're thinking Comanche, then the best read is Empire of the Summer Moon. However, there are quite a lot of options in the Texas-New Mexico-Arizona area that afford gaming with the tribes, US Army/Cavalry, rangers, ranchers, settlers, outlaws, banditos, etc... and they are all under-represented in gaming IMHO. Come to think of it, the Shawnee and Ohio-Illinois country tribes also get short-shrift. Too bad as there are actually a lot of well researched and written books that provide a basis for historical scenario material.
