Ghostbusters in 15mm or 28mm. Possibly a bargain!
« on: July 14, 2017, 06:49:33 PM »
I'm currently trying to hold back my righteous nerdrage!

Modern kids enjoy everything we deserved. And now this: German toy producer Playmobil has dared to release Ghostbusters playsets! Hey, kids nowadays don't deserve this. That was our youth! Do they even know who Venkman was?  o_o :o :-[ :? :? :? :-X

Well, seriously this is pretty good news, as there is also a playset for the Marshmallowman! I found it by chance today when I was looking for a birthday card for my wifey and immediately bought it.

Here is a comparison shot. The model is pretty good and looks like it caould be painted and fitted to a base. As you can see, it looks decent next to 28mm models and awesome next to 15s.

I only had a Slap Mini Dork and an old Gw Chaos sorceror at hand, hope this helps. I got him for 20 bucks.

That's pretty darn impressive. And if you're a stickler for detail, it looks like a scarf could be sculpted on pretty easily. Thanks for the comparison pic!

Is this a new toy or an old one? I remember a friend having a toy one to go with the old 6" range of toy figures that were out in the late '80's, early '90's as a result of the success of the kids orientated animated series.

Yeah. That's the only bad thing about him. I have thought of simply giving him a little red scarf.

In any case. His first job might actually be a Mighty Monster fight with Godzilla... lol lol lol

I know and they wait yet unpainted in my lead pile. So now I actually habe a reason to get them based and I think the Marshmallow Man will look really terrifying next to them!

I have one of these guys who goes with my Lego Ghostbusters firehouse because Lego never made one!! He's a bit small for that purpose but the aesthetic works. I didn't think of musing him for 28mm but it's a great idea. If I ever get them painted...

And yeah, I'd have killed for these as a kid. I loved The Kenner stuff at the time but it was pretty shoddy really. Still, it probably is responsible for a few interests that came through to adulthood like Aliens and Terminator et al!

Check Khurasan's site. He has several sets of ghost hunters and friendly ghosts in hisnodern horror range. Some of these might be exactly what you are looking for. Check for "spirit punters".

Crooked dice do a couple of sets of paranormal exterminators which look like they just stepped out of a movie.  Also do a car
