A great write up and a very nice looking game. I'm also impressed with the rocks, I shall have to look out for them.

Marvellous, I say. A simple scenario with just a handful of units turned out to be a lot of fun. Thanks for this most entertaining report.

Sadly, no. He's too big to go on trips with his uncle these days. He goes on ones with his girlfriend instead. :)

Too bad but understandable. And good for Sickly of course ;)
Looking forward to your next game report then. Don't leave us waiting for too long.

Actually it sounds like he's come through the teenage - "God, older relatives are so embarrassing!" phase and out the other side again. He said today he would go on a trip with me. So never say never. Not got anything planned though, so don't hold your breath.

Great AAR!

Enjoyed several games of TSATF. Usually played versions that used d20 for firing, had a card in the deck for each unit in the game to activate for movement & firing, and added a light wound result (to distinguish from the incapacitating wound in the normal rules). But have also played TSATF games that used d10 for firing, and games that used smaller units of 10 or 6 or even 4 figures. Very flexible and robust game engine.
Sailors have more fun!

A lovely report Dylan, thanks for sharing. The TSATF rules are joy to use.

Great to see you in action again.
Best wishes,
Helen

Plynkes,

Outstanding AAR and beautiful kit indeed! Your writing style really portrays the fun and excitement of your games and your tables are always inspirational.

I personally am a big fan of TSATF rules and have been playing them since the mid 1980's. I run a few TSATF con and club games every year. Larry Brom was a true gentleman gamer and rules designer. His daughter's have kept the torch (pun intended) so to speak alive and well.

The Mad Guru and I are friends. I've had the distinct pleasure in playing in two of his epic NWF convention games!!! An absolute delight. He's another gentleman gamer.

I'm looking forward to your next adventure......

Charla51, you are correct. I already got my copy. It's good to have that back up and great for overseas customers.

Wow, beautiful game Plynkes! Very glad to see you back and actively gaming again.  Marine0846, I was also interested in the rock/cliff and the googles have turned up some somewhat helpful results.  "Terrarium big rocks" was about as helpful as "Terrarium rocks" (mostly colorful small stones), but "Terrarium rock formation" and "terrarium rock cluster" helped me find the following:

Seems like "ledge" or "shelf" also helps narrow the results to the big cliff-style formations Plynkes and others on LAF have used to good effect.  Sorely tempted to pick some up myself.
