Blood for the Blood God - A Khorne Warband
« on: July 24, 2017, 04:33:43 PM »

One has started a Khorne warband for Age of Sigmar Skirmish. It brings me back to the old Realm of Chaos warbands. Slaughterpriest and thugs first!

You have done some OUTSTANDING work with the brush & palette. The Fellow in red on the right has the most WONDERFULLY expressive face. VERY WELL DONE!
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

Wonderful, characterful work.
This is going to be a really great warband to keep adding to whenever you see that figure that is 'just right' for it.
 :-* :-*

I really enjoyed reading the blog entry too, it gave me a good laugh.
I highly recommend that others do the same.
 ;)

Oh, one other thing.....Now I am going to have to read up some more on this AoS skirmish as I am intrigued.
Some of the figures are really starting to grow on me as the basis for some fanciful conversions, but please dont tell anyone that I said that.
 ;) ::)

Very nice. You have tied the two styles of sculpting together really nicely with those paintjobs.

I recommend it Mason, as a basis for a lot of the kind of narrative games I like to play it's pretty good. Straightforward and with a lot of plug-in content. You can essentially come up with almost any force/theme and have it work. I like the rules to fit the miniatures. If I can paint something I like and get to use it in a satisfying fashion in a game, I'm usually happy. That said as with all games, but more so in one like this where it's so broad it's very much about your gaming companions and your mutual attitude to the games. Utility is a thing here too. I can use part or all of this force in Gorechosen, Silver Tower, Skirmish and Paths to Glory. If it gets big enough then also Age of Sigmar and other games like Dragon Rampant.

Path to glory mode from General handbook (and soon standalone) is a good way to play the game too ! Cool narrative campaign setting for reasonably sized warbands, with a bit of XP-ish flavour.

Nice painting and minis, by the way  !

Two new additions for the warband, the musician and champion for the contingent of thugs:

Love the oldschool bloodletter. I think I have one floating around. The bluetipped hands look great.

Badass stuff Mr S!

I'm really looking forward to some Up To Eleven High Fantasy AGE OF DIO style games against those haemo-erotic obsessives!

Feckin great!

Love those Bloodletters.
We used them as 'Bloodkin' in our FRPG back in the 80's-90's.
Totally mental, feel no pain, lunatic demons.

I still have a few of those Old Skool buggers knocking around somewhere, might have to dig them out some day coz I love 'em!

Thanks folks. I am looking forward to getting these on the table, they have some fun rules in Age of Sigmar.

Last week I spend some time moaning about the modern plastic juggernauts. The universe then decide to call me on it by presenting me with a box of three of them ridden by bloodletters for pretty much free. So, now, after looking a little harder, I think they might be just fine. Nothing like free to challenge your convictions.

So, I guess mounted bloodletters are going to happen.
