Pulp Alley AAR: Dirk Drake and the Perilous Island - Episode 2: Final Flight

On Tuesday night at the G3 club in Glasgow Nick McLean and I played part 2 of the Pulp Alley adventure "Dirk drake and the Perilous Island".
In last week's opening episode Drake and the Daredevils thwarted the plans of the Ahnenerbe to kidnap society heiress and daring archeoogist Lady Elaine Darrow in an effort to locate her missing father.
Fleeing the ancient Egyptian temple complex before it was engulfed in mysterious explosions the Daredevils headed to Cairo aerodrome to try and spirit Lady Darrow out of Egypt on the first available flight.
Arriving at the airport the Daredevils found it packed with European refugees fleeing an outbreak of nationalist violence. With the city about to be locked down the Daredevils had to get Lady Darrow on the first flight to Athens but not trusting her new allies she used the situation to escape into the crowd.
Meanwhile, hot on Drake's heels the Ahnenerbe arrived at the aerodrome and sneaked in with the intent of sabotaging the plane and thwarting Drake's efforts to get Lady Darrow to safety.
The Daredevils had to first get the last remaining tickets, find Lady Darrow in the crowd and then get her on the plane. The Ahnenerbe had to find a package with a bomb, persuade the mechanic to plant it in the plane's engine then blow it up, preventing the Daredevil's escape.
In an early lead Drake pushed through to the ticket desk only to find it was actually passport control. He had to search again, wasting valuable time. Meanwhile, the Ahnenerbe successfully got the package and persuaded the mechanic to plant it on the plane.
Dirk located the ticket desk and obtained the tickets then spotted Lady Darrow in the crowd. A tense stand off then ensued as the Daredevils tried to prevent the Ahnenerbe from sabotaging the plane. They failed and the plane erupted in a loud explosion. The Ahnenerbe slipped away to the coast to be picked up by U-Boat for the journey to Athens while the Daredevils and Lady Darrow were left looking for another way to get there.
The game was great fun, tense and with a great narrative. Tune in next month for episode 3 "At Death's Door"!

He passes the plot point but it is a red herring.  This is the passport desk!

Dirk successfully gets the tickets and locates lady darrow (the female in the pith helmet in the centre of the table.  Meanwhile the Ahnenerbe have got the package and the mechanic so a stand-off ensues.

The ahnenerbe succeed in planting the bomb and blowing up the plane.

The camera pans away to show the burning plane.  The Ahnenerbe slink away to a rendezvous with a U-boat on the coast while the Daredevils are left pondering their next move.
