1/144 Plane project off the back burner.
« on: July 29, 2017, 06:50:23 PM »
While on vacation I decided to finish up another back burner project, decals, touch ups and repaints of my 1/144th scale WWI planes.  They are mostly Shapeways plastics with a smattering of metal.  The decals are a mix of Dom's Decals and Ebay seller Mehusla.  I use Canvas Eagles for the rules.  Next up are the 1/300th models, about 5 times as many. :'(

I use a system of aluminum tubes of various lengths with an alligator clip to indicate altitude.

These rules and minis are probably my most played set.  Simple, fun and a great multiplayer system. http://www.joxash.org/gallery2/index.php/WW1-Aircraft

Jealous. :)

A riot of colour that only WW1 aviation can provide! Lovely! Did you treat the plastic with anything prior to painting?

Very nice indeed! I have found the hardest thing about the Shapeways planes is that they do NOT come with any decals! It has been a struggle to find them.

Your planes look great! I also use Canvas Eagles!

But they are SOOOOOO much less trouble to get ready for action!
