Prohibition Era Gangsters
« on: July 30, 2017, 01:44:02 PM »
Rifling through my assortment of unpainted minis I came across some Copplestone Gangsters, a project that never got started from about two years ago. So wanting to paint something different and with Boardwalk Empire on in the background I set to painting the seven gangsters I currently have. I thoroughly enjoyed painting these as I always do with Mark Copplestone's work. I think this is some of the best painting I've done for a long time.

I don't have any terrain made yet for games so I mocked up a section of wall to photograph the gangsters. More minis have been ordered and a copy of Mad Dogs With Guns too.

Awesome looking figures. We're a big fans of Boardwalk Empire. And its a great setting to use with Pulp Alley rules.

I hope we get to see more of your miniatures.

Nice.  You can't go wrong with a Copplestone Gangster.   :)

Copplestone are my favourite range of figures and you've done an excellent job of painting those.  :-*

Thanks all. I'm really fired up with this project so far. When the miniatures paint up so easily it makes the project a joy to work on. I managed to paint up 3 more gangsters today. Now to wait patiently for my order from Northstar to arrive.

Very nicely done. Gritty, yet sharp - as befits the theme.

Here's a look behind the curtain at the little cheat scene I made so I could photograph my gangsters against something a bit more interesting than a piece of paper. In a few weeks I'll begin making scenery proper for the project.

In other news my copy of Mad Dogs With Guns and more gangsters arrived today. Can't wait to get some paint on them.

I like that, very clever. The weathering is particularly effective.
