The Zombie workshop mk.II 2022 roundup
« on: August 09, 2017, 03:36:14 PM »
My old workshop thread has been very much screwed over by Photobucket. So I am starting a new one for all the random stuff I do that might or might not evolve into full projects.

First of is a GW fortress. I have had it around unbuilt in its box for years. Because I couldn't quite face gluing it all together. Then Erik volunteered to assemble it after I boasted that it could be painted in a day. Erik assembled it in record speed and then I have been sitting on it for months until yesterday where Erik informed me we were going to need the castle in our planned game for Thursday!

So I guess I have better put my money where my mouth is. This is the progress so far. One tower is only undercoated so is not in the picture.

Excellent work. We must continue down the siege track after our game tomorrow.

Cheers

Loved your old thread, so want to make sure I'm up to date in this one. So Erik's like the wargaming buddy that nags you to finish odd jobs? Lucky you. :D

It is a great sadness to see that many great threads die due to photobucket asshattery...

Sometimes you just have to go where the butterflies take you. And lately they have taken me to modern times shantytown warfare. This is the output of the last few weeks of hobby time.

No need to feel guilty or justify yourself. I like what you've done with the Walking Dead terrain pack - but where are the roof bricks from (both sizes)?

Thanks.
The bricks and the propane tank on the roofs are from Zinge Industries.

I have gone and done up a supermarket. I have had it for ages but had not had the courage to assemble and paint it. But after seing Anpu excellent version in his epic fallout thread on post apoc. I thought I might give mine a go. It still neads some fine detail and some weathering. But I could not wait to set it up for a game. I am debating with myself on the level of weathering. I want to use it for both modern and zombie apocalypse type games.
There will be some lettering on top of the entrance. And I will have to make some groceries to go on the shelves.

Good work. I've just had the kids to Djurssommerland, so you defenetily win on bussyness on this sunday!

It looks awesome though. I think the weathering on the outside is spot on, but I would put some sort of wear and tear on the inside as well. Maybe some of those basing products, cans and newspapers and that sort of stuff. Water running down the walls or blackened corners from leaky roofs. Make sure it work in both Europe and Africa when you start writing stuff on the walls. How about a mural of Che or something like that, a football player maybe. Preben Elkjær!!!!!

Cheers

This is looking very good, I like the damaged cars they look wicked. Umm not sure I'm allowed to say that.

Sorry can't help with what you asked for but if you search for Germy and Tommy Gunn paper buildings there is a lot of graffiti and posters included in the textures of the buildings that you could extract and they are free.
The buildings are also very good IMHO if you stick them onto foam board, very well suited to the sort of buildings you are doing.
To get some idea I have recently posted 3 games on the Pulp forum that show some of these buildings so you can see the posters and graffiti I am describing.
Cheers
