I have made a prototype for a tent. I think it turned ok, and it was quite easy, so I think I am going to make a bunch of them.

It looks good as does the rest of the board, how did you do the frame under the cloth?

The frame is made from lengths of wire I soldered together. Then glued some cloth over it. I am thinking I will make enough to make a small camp. And then I will make some medieval type tents.

I had thought to do that but my soldering technique is pretty useless. I hoped you might have an easier way.  :'(

I did some circular medieval pavilions years ago using model aircraft tissue and dope to tighten it up, they are still alive but I can't for the life of me remember how I created the frame inside them. ::)

Thanks anyway.

My soldering technique is pretty useless as well. I don’t think I have soldered anything since I was in primary school. But it really isn’t that hard. And everything is covered by cloth so the soldering doesn’t have to be pretty.

Soldering or no soldering. The tent look good as does the new walls and roadblocks. It will be cool when you can make a small tent camp.

Excellent work

In a burst of speed I painted up some african militia types. I got them in the post from Fighting15s yesterday. I still have some more to paint, but I wanted some done for an upcomming game on monday.

They are reinforced by some visious attack dogs.

I paint one color at a time on various parts of the models. Usually in batches of 10-12. I use a rather big brush and with the first few colors I don’t worry to much about staying inside the lines. As it will be covered by other colors. Everything is then given a wash of AP strong tone. Then a very dry drybrush with Iraqi sand. Larger areas I highlight properly.

Nicely done. You worked off a black for the skin tones or a dark brown?

I undercoat in black and then I have airbrushed the models with a dark brown and a lighter brown.
