I painted a few of the (relatively) new plastic and metal miniatures from Warlord Games:

Very good.

The mass Cybermen shot is particularly good.

So how did you paint your Daleks and Cybermen?

Daleks midochampopocatepetl!

Great stuff. Not too much of a New Who fan myself, but the Cybermen and Daleks look quite all right to me, and the painting is nice.

I can't quite make it out in the pics, how did you paint the "head lights"? Is that pure silver or a silver cage on a coloured light?

White lights with a black ink/water wash (for keeping it simple and fast).

So how did you paint your Daleks and Cybermen?

Cybermen were painted silver and washed black.

Daleks were painted bronze (a selfmade copper/gold mix), washed umbra, highlighted gold and washed sepia. Weapons/eye sticks were painted silver, black and white and washed black.

Lights and eyes were painted blue with two different tones for highlights.

Splendid! I like the Cybermen shot a lot!

Can you tell us how they compare to "traditional" 28mm models? I.e. would the Cybermen work against, say Space Marines?

"Human" miniatures (including cybermen) of that range are 32mm (silence are 35mm) to the eye level (measured from top of base), but very slim (naturally proportioned in comparison to most gaming miniatures). Therefore they appear rather tall, but it works in my opinion. I don´t hesitate to deploy them alongside my other 28mm miniatures.

Thanks! That will be good enough for me.

Finally something new:

A few more miniatures for the "Exterminate!" game by Warlord Miniatures:
The Daleks (Supreme Dalek, Special Weapon Dalek/"Abomination" and Genesis Ark) came in a recently released set called "Maximum Extermination". The 2013 War Cyberman is the only miniature of that model cast in metal available yet and is from the "Nightmares in Silver" set. However there are plenty of them cast in plastic in the core game and "Missy and the Cybermen" set which look just as good, although less dynamic than this runner. The Daleks are metal, but the Genesis Ark is made of resin.

Glorious.

You know, I don't think I have ever seen a full episode of Dr Who, yet I am a fan. This Thing of Ours makes you aware of all sorts of memes and whatnots...

Great to see these bumped, and also the new stuff.
I haven't been able to convince myself on splashing out on anything beyond the plastic sets.
