Update: Unimog is go!
« on: August 22, 2017, 10:01:57 AM »
Got a new photo booth and decided to snap some pictures of some of my new(ish) cars.

I was hoping this one got a bit of a police interceptor vibe from the colours and slightly more integrated weapons, but I'm not sure if I achieved that.

I was quite happy with how the paint chipping on my recent mech turned out, so I decided to apply that to a car as well.

Decided to keep this one separate, I have a Unimog utility flatbed vehicle in the works it can fit on (with plenty of spare ammo on it!) but it can also work on a structure or maybe in the future the war rig. The models are a bit static, but I do like how at the 20mm or 1/72 scale you can use a lot of stuff and the right colour paint will make it fit in just fine.

And now the main event, my WIP war-rig. By the time your reading this, chances are I've primed the thing to see where I stand, but I wanted to have some pictures to show the constituent parts first.

I've made a separate dozer, quite happy with how it turned out though I think the pneumatics can do with some hoses.

And finally, while we are at it, here is an old GW turn tracker I did up for this kind of game.

LOADS more pictures in my imgur album Including new pictures of my old cars.

Nice.

The rust effects are excellent.

The bits of cars armour is excellent.

That is some fine rust painting there.

Thanks guys! most of the rust is done with "rustall" which pretty much does what it says on the tin.  lol

The top one looks pretty much like an old and battered police interceptor in terms of the colours. The war rig looks like it's gonna be a monster.  :o

Those new cars look GREAT! I am especially impressed with your work on the rust on them. Looks absolutely realistic for rust and I will use it as a guide when I get to my Road Warrior cars and trucks.

I also look forward to seeing your War rig painted up.

Very nice. I'd better not show it to my boys though as they'll be digging out their Siku cars.

Mind you, in the case of the Pixar "Cars" cars that would be a very real improvement...
