Scratchbuilt Dark Ages Tower
« on: September 03, 2018, 01:24:43 AM »
I was playing in my workshop and this happened.......

https://antonswargame.blogspot.com/2018/08/a-little-side-project.html

It took me a week to complete https://antonswargame.blogspot.com/2018/09/blue-board-tower-and-base-completed.html
But I think it turned out pretty well

this is impressive, did you cut all the foam blocks individually? If with what, and how long did it take?

Define playing lol

That looks like a lot of work. I am very impressed. Cutting out all those bricks looks absolutely stunning but has always intimidated the hells out of me.

Cutting the blocks

I used a Proxxon hot wire cutter for this project https://www.proxxon.com/us/micromot/37080.php it is a very useful tool.  Examples of other projects that I have used it on are found here  https://antonswargame.blogspot.com/p/adventures-in-blue-board-and-foamcore.html

The actual making the bricks is easy; you simply cut a half dozen of so strips of blue board with a section the size of the brisk you want then you stack the strips and slice thin sections off the end. After that it is simply a matter of sticking them to the outside of the blue board shape (it is boring.......yes it is!)
