Well, as expected, the last two pics didn't send anyone's heart to race - so here's the first painted judge from the Mongoose/Warlord starter:

He was really nice to paint. I went with a lighter green this time, and I like ot more as it gives a better contrast. The other two judges are basecoated as well, hopefully I'll finish them next week - I have other projects to do, so two figs would make me happy.

One thing...if noone told you that, they are absolutely incompatible with the Citadel figs, which is not a problem, but the Citadel figs will most likely be end up in the shelf as a collection instead of gaming pieces, but as they are fun to paint as well, I'm not that bothered. The Foundry figures are a better match I hope, as they have a whole lot of models I'd love to include.

And for the bragging rights part for today's entry: this week the first "Tales of Nu-Earth" arrived - haven't started reading it yet, but it's a hefty tome. Also, from the dear chap who runs Mighty Miniatures, I'll get a lot of Dredd minis - a Citi Def box, another box of gangers, an exorcist judge, both DeMarco models, Hershey, sky surfer blister, robodogs, sky surfer character, Rico, and so on and so forth. Also, as I found out, Paizo has a few Dredd boxes left in stock for really good prices (10$ for most, Cursed Earth Desperados, Fatties, Sky Surfers, the Angel gang, Holocaust judges, Ape gang)...even with postage, the six boxes cost me approx. 100$ from the US to Hungary. Happy days!

I like that very much.

Nice! Some of the Citadel figures will work ok with the Mongoose ones but it's very trial and error.

Nice judge.

How are you basing them?

Nice judge.

How are you basing them?

Thanks! A friend at Scenery World Workshop is making 30mm urban bases for me, I'll mount them on those. They are not yet ready, but once they are done and cast, I'll post some pics.

Well, not much done, except Judge Scott (named after Walter Scott) now has a base, courtesy of Scenery World Workshop.

Next two bases for the double Lawgiver judge and the Psi Judge:

Hope the picture will be visible - will switch it to an imgur link once I get home, but can't access the site from work.

Thank you for the continous encouragement, Ultravanillasmurf!

And as for a small detour...as I purchased two boxes of the Mongoose street gangers (I should probably get some more...), I came to the conclusion that the heads are really bad. Arms seemed okay-ish, but I wanted to be sure, dig into my bits box, and returned with some rifle arms from Warlord's Germans, a bazooka with the relevant arms from the Warlord GIs, and two random GW IG heads to make these:

I think they work pretty well, actually. Not sure if they'll end up in a street gang, or in the citi-def, but I'll probably need to get a few more spare parts from the WW2 kits.

This is a great project! 8) It's nice to see someone else doing Dredd in their own style!

Those plastic are shit. Good work adding the extra bits to hide the bad sculpts! I'm now trying to think if I've got any spare heads to copy your idea. I think GW heads will probably be to bulky! :?

Thanks! Well, depends on the heads - the IG heads look fine on them, as the figures themselves are bigger than GW figures, so the big heroic GW heads look just fine on them. Other than them, Anvil does a lot of useful heads, as well as Victoria, Statesque, Hasslefree (if you're willing to sculpt some hair or headdress), Mad Robot, Kromlech, Maxmini, and I probably forgot to mention a dozen others...

Well, I promised they'll be done this week, and voilá! They are!

So, the two newly finished judges:

Judge Byron with two Lawgivers:

Psi Judge Livingstone:

I admit, her face looks better IRL...

And now a somewhat blurry group pic of the starting group for the Justide Department:

I also made a list for the Gangers - a lvl 1 hero with decent protection (flak jacket I think) and a heavy spit gun plus an axe, a lvl 1 psi user with a pistol, two punks with a pistol and a club, one with a pistol only and one with a shotgun - all have some kind of protection as well. Besides the shotgunner, they are all from the Starter Set, and Mr. Shotgun is again, a kitbash from the plastic gangers. No pics this time.

Well, my Paizo order arrived, and I'm pretty happy with getting this stuff at 64% off RRP in average ;)
