Having put together an insane number of Napoleonic-era cardstock sailing ships in 1:900, I'm itching to do the same for something vaguely Space 1889.

Anyone know of any such cardstock kits of sailing or ironclad aeronef/aeroscaph/similar in a similar scale?

As referenced in the title, Spelljammer type ships would also work pretty well.

Thanks much!

As do I. but, in the US.  :D

Froggy, I'll TRY to remember to look for them when I get back from my holiday, though finding has been a real pain of late.

I'm all thumbs assembling paper, but those mentioned by Dezmond had me itching to try again when I found them some time ago.

Incidentally I just remembered there is an expanded selection of compatible S1889 cardboard ship miniatures by a different creator available from the files section of the old Sky Galleons of Mars yahoo group:-

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/SGoM/info

Including the larger British aerial gunboats (Reliant, Thunderer, Triumph), some more Martian cloudships, even tiny little steam launches and scouts.

My cutting mat is currently covered with tiny little bits of card. I love these things.

Are you speaking specifically about the 'Serjeant Webbs paper models'? Woof! :o

It has been way too long since I 'hung out' with the group. That will change!

Yep! Maybe I should try and contact the guy to make sure the models are more easily accessible.

--

All the tiny bits of paper on my cutting mat have become...

The Royal Navy Syrtis Major Squadron in 1889:-

The Aphid class aerial gunboats Aphid, Sandflea, Wasp and Hornet

Dauntless and Daring of the Dauntless class.

And in front the heavy units - Reliant, Thunderer and Triumph.

This photograph was taken shortly after another Aphid - Firefly - had been destroyed in the opening action of the Oenotrian war when she was immobilised by a lob gun impact and rammed by Hullcutter screw galleys.

(The British had also previously lost the Aphid class Ladybird in action against the Fenian Ram in 1887 and the Dauntless class Daring to the German Hamburg Luftkreuzer during the So-Called "Mylarkt Incident" of 1886.)

--

As I say, I think these are fab.

The models require a certain amount of fettling - some of the glueing tags need to be trimmed to fit and notches in fins enlarged. Don't be afraid to use superglue on some of the more fiddly bits. For instance with the propellor struts on the larger flyers to chop off the glue tags entirely and use superglue on card edges instead.

And the page of British Bases appears to be oversized. These were printed at 94.12% to make them the same size as the others.

But, I mean, these have got to be the best Sky Galleons of Mars minis currently available.
