LotOW could be one of the games to get me back into mini gaming after 7 years pause, so I started to build some houses from balsa:

First painted building, the Land Office:

2nd storey building, of course you can take off the upper storey:

row of buildings, including my first "unusual color building" ever:

"Welcome to Rocky Creek, Population 89... ah, 87":

without cacti it wouldn´t be complete:

What else is planned?
Of course finishing the paintjob on the buildings, a saloon, some more different fronts, some scenery like rocks or mesas, fencing etc
Lots of work still ahead of me.

Only real problem I face: I´m lousy at painting minis, not enough patience, I guess. So my posse will take quite a while...

Really, really  nice looking buildings, and nice cactus aswell.

Looks like the start of a fine collection. I am sure your figures will be fine, your painting ont he scenary is spot on. :)

I´m still unsure to ask someone from the Upper Echelons of the Arkham University about a trade: paint slave work vs terrain slave work ;)

What are the Cacti?

Harald,

Gorgeous work on all of the Old West buildings & terrain. Got a question for you, what did you make the Cacti out of?? been thinking of making a few for myself, but those look nice.

So please tell, inquiring minds must know.

I cheated on the cacti:

the cacti are actually old Timpo toys I still had lying around (must have been in my BitzBox for at least 5 years...). After I used them for the terrain I found out, that ONE of them brings around 3 Euro on the German Ebay... so that´s quite some money I could possibly have made by selling this original Timpo from the 70ties.

Oh well...

Great buildings. Can you post some pictures when you have finished painting them all?

roofs are all finished, signs are up - all buildings finished now.
Maybe I´ll add a small roof in front of the sofar unnamed "Redwood Saloon", but that has time for later.

Individual pics will be on my homepage www.netterrain.de monday next week

Wow!  Great stuff.  Now I want to play some Old West...I hate Old West.  I'm so confused.

Very, very nice!!!

Just an idea: I would, instead of making the pavings part of the buildings, have them as separate pieces (in different lengths, and maybe several sets in different styles/colurs) to lie in front of the buildings - that way I could make a consistent row of pavings, even covering the odd gap between buildings. As I said, just an idea....
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
