New 28mm Napoeonic range, Victorious miniatures
« on: September 12, 2017, 03:26:40 PM »
Ok this is a wee plug for a new company selling 28mm metal figures for the war in Holland 1793-1795, the British army was commanded by the DUKE OF YORK, but the British were attached to the much larger Austrian army.
So this is pre that Corsican chap, he is around but as a captain of artillery in France/Italy?

The initial range is British infantry in round hats, Highlanders in breeches and early featherd bonnets, [the highlanders did not. for the most part, wear kilts as they were newly raised troops but also lessons learned in the American war, for which you could use these figures]. Infantry in Bicorn on their way soon.
Duke of York and Sir Ralph Abercromby figures to leed your troops.
Artillery in design stage, gunners wore Mother Shipton hats and the guns had the twin trail.

They look nice. Who is doing the sculpting on this range. I also like the Chinese guns!

Superb!! Great looking figures and a nice change of scene from the usual Napoleonic period. :)

Most of these would also be suitable for the 1799 campaign

I think they could be useful for a few things.

The style reminds me of the Napoleonics from Crusader Miniatures (Mark Sims?)

Hi all
The Napoleonic figures are sculpted by Mark Sims [Crusader miniatures].

He is now busy doing gunners for this period and later I hope to get him to do the British Light Dragoons.

The range is suitable for the later war in Europe 1798-99 and also west indies, Ireland 1799 rebellion.

I think the Highlander could be used in the later part of the American war of independence as they stop wearing  the kilt then.

cheers

Well spotted the commissar! One of my favourite sculptors. Looks to be an interesting range.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Nice sculpts, I like Mark Sims work but the marching poses look a little odd and I reckon they would bu a bugger to base for most systems.

I have one or two regiments myself 4 figures on 40x40mm base [play a lot of Blackpowder] I also have quite a few on 25mm round bases for skirmish games.
They base up fine, they are compatible with Perry, Front rank, Crusader[no surprise their] and Trent Miniatures [who do some nice British Militia for 1798-99].

cheers

Good to know about them being compatible with Trent Minis, I have a bundle of the militia so your minis will go well as the regular army. :)

These look really good and it is highly likely I will buy some in the next 24 hrs.

However, can you tell us which hat styles are appropriate to which regiments?
