Monsters Creatures sculpts Greens
« on: September 15, 2017, 11:56:14 AM »
This is a topic created to show my sculpts

There will be sculpts of all genres.

My plan is to upload new Greens every few days or A.S.A.P

There will be finished sculpts and W.I.P'S, so please do pop back to check for updates  :)

Thanks!

Alan

This Creature is sculpted in Greenstuff .

The whole figure is Greenstuff apart from one of his tenticals which is sculpted in greenstuff/fimo mix

It's tenticals are seperate from creature, as seen in photo's

This fellow has one beedy eye and a sharp wiggly tounge  :D , oh and some bone crushing teeth to boot...

It is sculpted in Greenstuff and fimo. 90% Greenstuff and 10% fimo

This rather nasty looking chap is sculpted in Green stuff and milliput.

It has big teeth, spiky back , pincers for hands and a nasty sting in his tail.

Possibly be used for Horror genre as something lurking in the dark or for a apocalyptic  mutated human .

There's still a little work I'd like to do on him.

Cheers

Alan

It's got lots of teeth and a big mouth and likes to crunch bones  :D

Sculpted in Green stuff.

There was mixed comments on if this chap should have arms or not, so it seems the best way forward is to have separate arms, skinny long arms were mentioned so i may sculpt a couple of different arm options.

I have also added toes.

So i have added photo's without arms and ( W.I.P ) arms .

Some nasty critters in here. Love the teeth and the stingers especially . Great work! Any tips on achieving a decent skin texture with green stuff? And you mentioned a few of these are fimo / green stuff - do you have to bake the fimo before applying the GS? Or does GS not mind getting baked?
Keep it up!

Great monsters. I like the last one both with and without arms.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

Scarper

I use an array of bits i've collected / salvaged / found over the years e.g various brushes, soft and hard, and anything i have found or come across that has a pattern on it. Even Bits of old plastic, metal  o_o . For other detailing i have open an old mobile phone nd stripped it of anything that will creat a design / impression. I have even picked up bits n bobs from the street, my girlfriend thinks im mad  :D Key is to try anything and everything and experiment . use a teeny weeny weeny bit of vasiline before you press it on and dont forget green stuff has amemeroy so press it in a bit more than you think you need to. Trial and error...

With regards to baking the sculpt that has fimo in it i have not done this as the tiny amount i used was so thinly spread it didn't have any affect as far as i could see. It does make the green stuff easier to use, it loosens it up. I have also read on forums in the past that there seems no need to bake it, however since you mentioned it im going to try it out and see what happen and will keep you updated.

Hope this helps and thanks for your comments Scarper.

This sculpt was inspired when PhilB a fellow LAF member introduced me to Terry Gilliam,  illustrator for Monty Python's Flying Circus.

So thank you  PhilB ! this one's for you  ;)

I like it, though I really need one about six times that size so it's large enough to reasonably menace an entire band of knights and eat a monk in one head-bouncing bite!
from Mr.Vampire: "It's the paintjob that makes the miniature fight harder not the size."
