30's Police & civilian motorcycles for VBCW/Operation Sea lion.
« on: September 18, 2017, 12:00:16 PM »
Here's a quick peak at one of the new motorcycles I've been quietly plodding on with.

It's painted a simple off white ,to contrast with uniform. I could go on and say it makes it easier to photograph. But its mainly because I'm out of practice and have a run of bad luck with painting black.even this ones gone gloss on the uniform (serves me right for trying to rush and using purity seal)

I'm glad you like this one.
The police BSA bike is cast., there's also a master for a police side car with a passenger (policeman). The WW1 Clyno sidecars both civilian and Vickers armed sidecar will work with this. Bike.
There's also a Norton 16h motorbike,Both a civilian and military version including sidecar.
Plus a civilian rider for the earlier Clyno bike.
I'll add a picture of the Nun on a Norton. If you like. It's suffered a little more than the police bike . With varnish shine.( i won't have time to correct them this week.)
There's also a civilian sidecar with a soft top up that will fit all three bikes.
Last but not least the adventurer on a BSA ( in Septembers Wargames illustrated)

They'll all eventually be added to the 'follies' range at 1st corps miniatures.

Cheers gents,
Here's a couple of pictures of the Norton (and Nun) . Sorry about the shine as mentioned earlier the varnish has killed the painting.

Great stuff - the movement in those figures is spot on. The Nun is incredible. Top job Sir!

They're both cracking figures. You're making it harder to resist the 1st Corp Follies stuff. That looks like a great table too.

If only these had been available before I bought a dozen US bikes and riders and had to write a complicated back-story to explain how they came to be used to equip a Wiltshire police unit. Well done - they look fantastic (although I hate to see them on those bases...!)

They're based to cope with the sausages fingered pokes they'll undoubtedly receive on the 1st corps trade stand. These won't end up on my table.
I'll be painting mine up without the riders.
