Legation color schemes/Boxer Rebellion

I have been trying (with no success) to find information about the color of the buildings that made up the different legation in Peking during the Boxer Rebellion.  I would appreciate any information you can offer on the building colors and outer wall colors of the Japanese, US, British, French and Russian legations.  I have heard that the color of roof tiles was an indication of rank.  If that is so would it be reflected in the color of the different legation roof tiles?  If roof tiles are an indication of rank, what is the color/rank order?  Any information about this subject would be appreciated.  Thank you.  Richard

If nothing else offers itself, I may just go with the color schemes in 55 Days At Peking... the early scenes showing the legation area look interesting.
