Imperiál - a colorful, grimdark blog
« on: September 25, 2017, 06:52:06 PM »
Hello ladies and gents - this will be my thread dedicated to 40k figures. I usually paint fantasy - I've painted a few 40k figures a couple of years back, but not many, and none ever since. But now, the 8th ed figures pulled me back in.

Have a look, and please comment. Thanks.

Here is my first Death Guard marine. Slightly converted.

Well that's more than a nice start! Excellent conversion, if I presume correctly that it's a nurgling as a head swap?

Oh, I concur! Not sure if 'charming' would be the word for a Nurgle bloke :D, but you certainly hit the right key with the conversion.

Thanks for all the praise guys.

That's either a nurgling head or a head from the blightking box, can't really remember.

Unfortunately because of some of my color choices you can't really see such details as the puss pouring out of the power armor at his neck :) Bon appetit.

the recent news about the upcoming Kill Team has re-ignited my love for 40k, so I've put some paint on my first poxwalker

That poxwalker is brilliant.  I love your choice of colours.

Suitably disgusting! Great head swap on the marine, he looks so happy to be oozing papa nurgle's blessings.

my table of mostly YET unpainted stuff for the introductiory mission of FIVE PARSECS FROM HOME, which I find, having read through the rules, amazing. (during the years this thread hasn't been updated I quit 40k altogether - but the photos will remain grimdark, still, nevertheless. :) )

Looks nice so far.  Say what you will about GW's rules, prices, business practices, and treatment of its employees and fans, they do make some nice terrain, don't they?  Absolute pile of new (and some not-new) Orky pieces in the new Kill Team core set, which will likely be available independently at some point.

Absolutely, their terrain is still nr1, even with all the 3D printing options around. In the picture above the oil pump is from the new Kill Team box which I have received for review purposes.
