Clever idea.

I would have added "lifted" paving slabs where the tree comes out of the base, though that would not be particularly noticeable.

I know that I stated that I am eager to finally get to painting my warbands, but my orders from Fogou Models and Sarissa Precision arrived yesterday, and I just couldn't help myself.  By combining a Sarissa mdf billboard kit with some of the Fogou barriers, I hope to create an interesting terrain piece that injects a bit of old Seattle flavor into my board.

I didn't say it's a very good flavor, but it's good enough when you are 5 or 6 beers in, and not tasting much of anything anymore.  Plus, it's something's that had its heyday during my youth, so for good or ill, thinking about it always brings back a sense of nostalgia.

+1 to seeing it painted up, & in the words of Kid Sheleen (in the film Cat Ballou)..."I'll drink to that!"

I glued the artwork to a very thin sheet of styrene that is sized to fit in the sign's frame.  The sheet is held in place by 4 tiny pieces of poster tack and can be easily removed.  I designed it this way because I didn't know if I would like the look of artwork after it was "aged" with a thinned down brown ink.  This turned out to be a wise move on my part.  My first attempt to "age" the art didn't go so well.  What you see is my second go at aging the sign.

Thanks everyone.

I feel that the front face of the frame around sign should be a bit darker.  I got a bit too rambunctious with the highlighting.

looks great...

A great advantage in having removable signage. I can see another piece of advertising with maybe one of the "wallpaper" strips separating and hanging down, simulating the weather getting at the glue.
