That's good I never thought of using the seated camels in that way.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Those are very good Giles.  I like how you have managed to convey the square as well as the firing line.  The mounted column is grand as well.

I think the whole using the camels as cover business is a seriously dodgy concept, but it's a nice homage to the movie.  :)

So I started this project back in October last year and tonight my Sudanese forces get christened on the table :D

All told there are about 700 figures on the table including

Egyptians

2 Infantry Regiments
1 Cavalry Regiment
1 Artillery Gun
(65 figures)

British
6 1nfantry Regiments
1 Cavalry Regiment
1 Camel Regiment
2 Artillery
1 Naval Gardener Gun
(185 figures)

Mahdists
5 Beja Skirmish
12 Beja/Mahdist Fanatic Spear Units
2 Artillery Pieces
1 Camel Unit
3 Cavalry Units
(450 Figures)

First game will be fought using Black Powder

Deployment Positions at present




Full Battle Report will go up on the blog later this week

Amazing accomplishment and a beautiful tables filled with wonderful minis.

Mind you, another 450 Mahdists might be nice!  :D
