Hobby storage - trays and inserts to fit Really Useful Boxes
« on: October 13, 2017, 04:29:07 PM »

These conversion kits take a Really Useful Box to the next level of usefulness! They allow multiple layers of figures or other gaming products such as cards, dice, scenery or tokens to be stored safely and securely, each layer also being easy to lift out. This MDF kit is very easy to assemble and only needs some wood glue.
The space inside a tray allows for two inserts to sit snuggly side by side. The idea behind this is that you can have two different inserts per layer.

Trays stack on top of each other inside RUB's to increase storage capacity. Inserts for popular figure bases fit inside trays. We've got a range of trays with cut outs so that you can store whole games like Zombicide, Conan, Mansions of Madness etc. in a single box complete with game boards, rule-books, miniatures, cards and tokens.

Last week we had a request from a gamer who spends a lot of time on the road with work to put together some inserts for Really Useful Boxes to hold paints, tools and work in progress.

Would you guys consider making cutouts for 2p bases? I've got all my guys based on 1" washers, which are just slightly over 25mm. I bought some boxes from warbases, but they were for the UK size boxes and I only have access to the US boxes.

No problem, we had inserts for 2P pieces in our UK / European RUB range.
I've just added to the US sized RUB range for you.

We are more than happy to add an insert to either European or US range if you have a basing size we have not done yet, just let me know via this thread and we will get it sorted out for you.

Will Sally 4th be at Salute?  It's good that this thread got bumped because I was just thinking I could really use something like this, but I really need to look at the options physically in front of me to see the possibilities..
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

Any chance of a full tray for Humbrol/Citadel paints that can stack under a full tray of Vallejo/Army Painter bottles?

I have one 9 litre box for Vallejo (80mm tall) and a 4 litre for Humbrol/Citadel (36mm/40mm).

Of course the tall Citadel bottles are 60mm tall.

Yes we can do an insert for a full tray of bottles and one for a full tray of Citadel pots. I'll put it on the list of things to do this week.

Sally 4th will be at Salute. We will take about 12 of each RUB products, but we are taking pre-orders for collection as well.

Just got around to designing a storage set to hold my Sails of Glory models, cards and other components all together in a Really Useful Box!

If we have not got a tray or an insert to suit the game you want to store, just let me know and we will do our best to design a solution.

Do the 4/9 litre trays stack nicely in the 19 litre boxes (same base/lid size)?

Thanks in advance.

No, unfortunately RUB's have different size interiors.

If you take a look on our web site you will see that we have separated them out:

Type A fits 4/9 Litre
Type B fits 19/25 Litre
Type C fits 19/25 Litre but with a cutout for game boards to slip down side
Type D fits US size 4/9 Litre
Type E fits 7 Litre

... anything else considered on request!
