Damaging your eyes to paint these?......worth it!

What’s your overall plan with this? Are you doing a couple of rival tribes? Or is there a big barbarian tribe gaming scene in London?

Thanks gents  :)

I don’t know. Mark (Dr De’Ath’) suckered me into it. He’s got a mini project going using Matakishi’s ‘Crom!’ Rules, and he persuaded me to paint a few samples. I’ve actually been looking at these figures for several years, ever since they first appeared, but kept telling myself I didn’t want to start painting 15mm again at my age!
But truthfully, they are so delightful, I’m now hooked on painting the bastard tiny things...  ::)

I figure I’ll end up doing about 60 figures - 20 each of Cimmerians, Picts and Northmen - and see where that takes me. I’m sure I can devise a nice little skirmish of my own, using (as you suggested, Andy) my 28mm Cave Wars boards, which should suit well for this...

We’ll see. At the moment I’m just enjoying painting the figures  :)

They look great :)

I found them amazingly detailed and pretty fun to paint.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Thank you guys.

Absolutely draw-dropping stuff. That 15mm-28mm comparison picture boggles the minds of us lesser painters, and this latest batch is equally sensational. A treat for the eyes!

Thanks  :)

Today, I have been mainly painting 15mm Picts. They really are delectable little creations, and fun to paint...

I've noticed, alas though, that thanks to the 'random figure mix' in each pack policy (hate that. Hate it), I have many duplicates, but am completely missing several figures from each of the rank and file packs I bought. This includes two of the more interesting Pict figures...  :(

If anyone happens to have spares of the two stone-axe-wielding figures arrowed, I'd love to hear from you.
I can send you a clutch of my duplicates from various packs in return...

Drop me a PM if you're up for a swap 8)

Thanks!

They are all BEAUTIFULLY painted & based creations. I do get sympathetic eyestrain from them, but it is a small sacrifice to make. VERY WELL DONE!

Now this is just getting silly....I mean, stripes and tartan on something that I wouldn't even be able to see!

Brilliant!

Destroying your eyes on these is not wasted.

That is some superb brushwork on those barbarians. Can't wait to see the Picts! I'm not a 15mm gamer but share your pain regarding figure pack with random assortments of poses - it never fails that the ones I most want are the ones not included in the pack. I think a chap named Murphy had a thing or two to say about this.

At any rate, keep up the great work!
