Lovely stuff! I never thought to go with darker skin for some reason I went for very pale as if they had been living underground.

Thanks. The next batch of barbarians and Northmen are well underway  :)

I nearly succumbed to the Forged In Battle Iron Age farmstead when I was at Warfare in Reading this morning. It looks like it would do very nicely as a Cimmerian village. But they don’t have display models - only the product in brown boxes tightly wrapped up under about 10 layers of selloptape. I wish retailers wouldn’t do that. I don’t want to spend 30 quid on a resin piece that I can’t look at first. Just a grainy black and white photocopy picture on the box lid... Anyone happen to have a painted example of this piece?  :)

I've not seen a painted one, but the images of some of their other buildings on this blog look very tasty

I'm a huge fan of the Forged in Battle range, they're fantastic to paint, can't imagine the buildings being anything other than brill too.

Thanks  :)

And thanks, Von Lucky, for the Iron Age farm pics in the Kickstarter. Those are useful :)
I think, actually, what I will do is just buy some of the individual huts and then build my own Cimmerian village.

Meanwhile, here is the next lot of figures.
These are from the rank and file Barbarian and Northmen packs. Not quite as good overall as the character packs. Some of the figures are a bit flat and two-dimensional. Still very good though...

Barbarian reinforcements...

Northmen reinforcements...

There is no bow-armed pack for the Northmen for some reason. The archer is one of the barbarian bowmen with a Green Stuff fur waistcoat added...

The new recruits line up...

I'm up to 30+ of these figures finished now... The next batch of Picts are now on the paint table...

;D

Lovely brushwork as ever, I don`t think my eyes could manage this and certainly couldn`t do them justice like you have :-*

Looks great!

Of course, this thread eroded my last willpower and made me order the character packs  ::)

Your trademark use of vibrant tones really suits this scale. I bet these guys really pop on the table, despite their diminutiveness.

Just awesome! These are so splendidly painted I lack the words to praise them like they deserve.
