Bog Raiders....
« on: April 08, 2009, 02:11:29 PM »
Couple of Bog Raiders *coughfimircough*, that I've had a crack at.
Went together nice, and although they needed a little cleaning up, they cleaned up well.

Quite enjoyed them, tho the skin isn't the colour I first envisioned, but am quite happy.
(bit of a Heroquest nod to them, lol)

Those are COOL!  8)

Are all the visible highlights painted on, or are there some reflections of light to see?

And who makes those? Perfect for Song of Blades and Heroes, Broadsword Adventure, and other such 'warband' rulesets. (Which reminds me that I have to get BA...  ::)  )

Very nice indeed (as usual you talented git).

Dont like seeing these though as they remind me that my friend Pete Taylor and myself had a painted army of the original fimir (about 200 pieces) which was half inched some years ago. They go for a bloody fortune on ebay too >:(

They're from Blood Moon Miniatures. I have six of them (unpainted).

Very nice looking figures. I have never seen them before. I also like your paint scheme and the bases. Thanks for sharing!!

They look fantastic, but Id be tempted to do them with 2 tone skin, like with spots or patches or something. They have large areas of skin and it would be good to see soem interesting patterns on them....

I agree - there is some 'Celtic myth' about the Fi...  er... Bog Raiders. Think I must get me some.... soonish....

And, yes, painting is great - the blending of the body and tail colours seem so natural  8)

Thanks everyone.

I'm thinking of a more yellowy green skintone next with swirley tattoos, should help to break up that large area of skin.

Tattoos will make them even more 'Celtic Myth' -ish!

Looking forward to see the result!

I think Fantastic Worlds could also be an excuse for these... actually, I have far too many excuses already...  ;D

Oh, bog raiders... Great! I've just been painting two of the same (from the old Hero Quest range). Only I intended to use them as some kind of heat loving lava huggers or so living close to a subterrainean lava river - never mind that I gave up on building the lava river...

Great painting - much better than my go at them. Good job.
