Missed this thread up until now - awesome pulp stuff, sir!

I see you're on Vancouver Island. I'm down in Victoria with a bunch of pulp stuff. Where are you based?

I also see on your blog that you're prepping for Trumpeter Salute - if we can't connect before then, I'll see you in Burnaby!
Thank you Wirelizard. I am up in Courtenay. It would be great to connect somehow. I have been in contact with a fellow named DaveB in Nanaimo and my partner in crime is DavidM, both of whom you may know.
The canal walls have come out very nice and authentic looking, it will be good to see this completed.

I think you said you used modge Podge for the water, does this give the ripple effect, from what I've read I would have expected a smooth finish? The ripple looks better imo.
Thank you Vagabond. After several layers of brushing the modge podge on flat I did the last one in ridges across the canal; the end result was the ripple effect. The one problem is that is was so thick that a few  bubbles formed. If someone mentions it I will just tell them it is starting to rain. :D

There's always bubbles rising in rivers canals and lakes. But raining sounds as good as anything else. lol

I suspect I've met DaveB while we were both gaming at UVic on Sundays, as some of his figures look somewhat familiar. DavidM I don't recognize.

If you folks are running two or three games of Pulp Alley at Trumpeter Salute and I'm running two myself, it's going to be a very, very well represented ruleset!

Fishmen. It's always fishmen.

Well, it is in my games, recently...

Some really nice work on this project.
Your weathering is particularly good, especially on those canal walls.
 :-* :-*

Following with much interest.

Thank you Mr.Phipps. :)

My Sarissa Precision buildings are now painted. As may details are still working there way to me via moose sleigh I will have to move onto other things for the time being.

As usual more words and pictures on my blog.

You have taken these buildings to a nice finish.
 8) 8)

I have a few of these, so when it comes to doing them I shall come back for a look at yours.

Thank you Mason. I quite like these kits, they are perfect for our purposes as they easily allow roofs to come off and figures to be placed inside but they have some limitations largely due to the nature of laser cutting MDF. That is, they lack texture and fine detail although the iron railing by the small stairs of the super market is quite fine.  Ideally there would either resin or 3d printed details that could be added.

I think they look great Codsticker & have plenty of detail tbh, I've always made my own buildings using cork tiles but seen your great work & others on MDF buildings I'm think they are the way to go :)

I've been watching how this is coming together, and enjoying the progress.
However I didn't comment earlier as that bridge always felt out of place (to my eye anyway) ,and didn't feel I could comment until I could suggest a reasonably price alternative.

For me its not got the height or texture/structure to compliment the buildings.(plus the depth and texture of the canal)

So I'd recommend you take a look at Modelux ,I've found they're website a bit ropey (Windows 10 phone gets a huge amount of lag when trying to load each page.)  you can find them on eBay as well. They're pre-painted and weathered .the bridges are designed to be use for either road or rail.

They're 'oo' and 'n' gauge. But they'll easily work for 28mm.
I'm not plugging the company and I've put my money where my mouth is and ordered a Gasometer.(just about every big English town had one.)

Mark.
