Sewers
« on: November 01, 2017, 11:47:35 AM »
Decided my London needed some sewers.  Given Pulp Ally is 3x3 we've plenty of space for some sewer exploration.  Obviously its a perilous activity!

Plan is to have wide and narrow sewers.  Wide being 2" and narrow being 1".  The pics are wide.

The pipe walls are 2" downpipe cut into 3 and papered.  The supports and base are laser cut

Dr Metropolis, Mr Holmes and Ludmilla Pachenko take a look at the newly constructed sewer pipe.

What a great effect - very nice! When you say papered, is that papier mache? Those bricks must have taken ages if hand-drawn!

It's like textrued wallpaper and the best source seems to be this chap in Greece

Rich,
I've got the same paper for a very similar project (Serpents tomb from Sally 4th).

I made this mock up for a colour, and texture test, and to see if it'd be comfortable on larger areas(it'll all be recycled). To the point does your paper have a similar issue with the image mesh when the pattern is repeated on the full sheet?
It's not an issue when the sheets are cut down to fit the 5cm walls. I was just wondering whether I'd a dud batch. Or if its a general flaw.

Mark.

I'd not noticed but yes very slightly.
Its not very noticeable on this red brick.
Perhaps a drainpipe or climbing plant?

Wide sewer pretty much done.
Add the inside of the corners, trim and tidy up then paint the 'fluid' lol

Then on to the narrow and junctions.

I made a miscalculation on the widths of the sections meaning the bricks ran the wrong way.
I thought I could live with it....  I couldn't!  Ripped it all off and I've recut it and stuck it back on in the right direction!

I've also now got a lot more too... pics tomorrow...

Good idea, I like the overall look and will probably do this myself (in 15-20 years :))

Curses, having just started to make my own papercraft terrain, this tempts me towards textured walls, which of course would require everything else to be textured...

It looks very nice, and of course would have looked pretty good even without the reconstruction. Alas, this is not usually a hobby which attracts the 'it'll do-ers'!
