Churchill turret is just for show as the prototype turret is very similar just with a 2pdr as well as the main gun!

There was also another 2 turrets by the looks of things. A 6pdr and a 3" AA derived gun

Wow!

In the video earlier in the thread the barrel lengths are different, the two pounder looks longer.

I thought it might be that, or you were trying out the 3" AA gun.

The left hand one looks like it would go on a battleship!

That thing was a monstrosity. The English version of the Maus but started a couple of years earlier....
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

I think that the first turret was a mockup in reality but it's on the one in the video driving around so I figured it was interesting enough.  Note it has no hatches or vents on the roof!

Just need to detail the roof of the middle one and make the side infill panels (when the sponsons aren't to be fitted) and it's done.

Very nice scratchbuild.

I have built a paper one in 1/100th scale and there is also a 1/50th scale one both available free on the net.

Although IIRC there were no sponsons on the front ?

This is not mine but is a picture of the 1/100th model :-

regards Paul

IIRC the original design had sponsors, and like the World War One tanks they could be unbolted so they would fit within the loading gauge.

The one at Bovington has what are effectively dust covers not actual plate.
