It's the end of the trail, Pilgrim.
« on: April 29, 2019, 06:56:24 AM »
Tomorrow sees the penultimate game, in the Emporium that's been our Field of Mars, for forty years!
It'll be the 'Beer Riot' FFofL scenario... a proper Wild West shoot 'em up. Next week will see the denizens of Dead man's Gulch go home by a road they do not know. Which got me to thinking, what would be the Brethren's favourite/best FFofL scenario for the ultimate leadslinging be?
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Well, not sure I follow all of your references in your post - perhaps meant for an 'in' crowd - but I've always fancied the major shoot out in John Wayne's Chisum as the basis for a game.

Both sides begin the classic walk down mainstreet, open fire then dive for cover…

Shotguns roar and sixguns rattle, but this ain’t Hollywood pardner, in real life guns run out of bullets!

But before they do Madam Bovery takes a shotgun blast in the shoulder. A very shifty looking blighter from Snake Eyed Pete’s scumbags makes sure she stays down slashing her whistlepipe with his scalping knife…

Dolores, goes on one at the death of her mentor, breaks cover and starts blasting, she gets the ‘dead man’s click’and is cut down…

One of Madam Bovery’s, now, ex-underlings gets tactical and climbs on a roof making good practice thinning Snake Eyed Pete’s minions…

Sadly, her swift demise puts an end to the fight…

Conclusions between the two gangs commenced at high noon, by quarter past Madam Bovery and her gang were all candidates for Boot Hill. Snake Eyed Pete gets arrested and thrown in chokey for disturbing the peace, but wot of Big Sam and the Rotgut you may well ask?

Sam took a wrong turning and got lost, taking no part in proceedings. He finally made delivery to the ‘Red Hotel’, after three laps of the Territory, consequently peace and harmony returned to ‘Dead Man’s Gulch’.

It's the end of the trail today as we're having the very last game of FFofL, bringing to a close nearly 40 years of wargaming, at this address.
Today six baddies have broken out of jail and armed themselves with a motley array of weaponry a pistol, scattergun, two old trade muskets and a Bowie knife. A patrol of Texas Rangers have moved into town and must stop the baddies taking to the hills, with ectra bonus points for taking 'em alive!
When next the streets of Dead Man's Gulch echo to the roar of the sixgun and the whistle of hot lead...
it'll be in the new Emporium at the seaside!

Kicking off the first game in the New Emporium by the Seaside this coming weekend...
Snake Eyed Pete will be drawing conclusions with Sherriff P. Knutts as to who's going to be the new head honcho in town!
