Monopose medieval plastics?
« on: November 23, 2017, 08:46:35 PM »
I'm looking for some monopose plastic infantry to build quick, cheap ranks of infantry.

As much as people don't like the gripping beast archers, I basically want them, with spears.

Can anyone think of anything that fits the bill(Or spear) ?

They really need to still be in production, or so cheap that i can get alo second hand.

Any help is greatly appreciated! :)
never trust a horse, they make a commitment to shoes that no animal should make.

I don't know of any monopose 28mm. There are a lot of multipose sets.

First you need to decide on the period.

For 1450 to 1485, Perry Miniatures have 5 plastic WOTR sets, covering foot and mounted.
These are £20 per box and cover everything you may need to make an English or continental army.

For 1415 to 1430, Perry Miniatures have 3 plastic infantry sets with cavalry promised at some point.

For the Crusades Period (roughly 1200-1300), Fireforge have several sets covering Templars, Teutonic Knights and general Sergeants at Arms.
There are enough sets to make a full plastic army.

Conquest have 1066 Normans and are due to launch early medieval Knights for about 1200 to 1250..

Cheers for the answer.

I already have a few perry on my desk.I'm aware of all your suggestions but they're all too "kit" for what i need.

As for period, that's why i'm looking for something similar to gripping beasts archers.A very generic "soldier" type figure .

Would the El Cid -series from HäT work:

http://www.hat.com/current28.html

It consists at the moment of 6 infantry and 4 cavalry sets, and the figures are very monopose - at most you need to glue spear and shield to the hands.

Those are the only ones I can think of too. Although, if you had the Gripping Beast Dark Age Warriors and sourced different heads and shields that might be do-able. Not monopose but about as close as you will come outside of the HaT figures.
