This board is amazing! So colourful and tropical. I have not visited the archipalago yet, but I want to go there if it looks like this! Great work.

bit of a hodge-podge of figs here, but as some are FG / GA, think best to keep to my one thread.

Pretty much settling on a technique centered on the GW contrast paints range - and am pleased with the results.
Certainly helps with 'time', and they look good to me (although the figures are flattering to it).

I do 'extra' work on the figs, both with the contrast paints and conventional opaque ones too, but, still, the way forward for me after all sorts of dead-ends in recent times.

much happier with the basing 'formula' too, at long last.

thanks very much Stroezie.

another plus point for the 'contrast' paints as far I'm concerned is their fluidity - makes them easier to mix (somehow), so been doing more of that than otherwise would with opaque paints.

should add btw, that another BIG plus point about contrast paints is that they're very kind to brushes.

keeping points on (very good quality / bloody expensive) brushes when using opaque paints is a continuing bug-bear for me, and that's using a wet-palette and a four (seriously!) jar cleaning regime ...

* - also - unusually it appears, I use a white undercoat. Anything else and the brilliance and 'trueness' of the contrast colours are degraded imo.

This all looks great and is inspiring me to jump into Ghost Archipelago.
I have to ask...how do you store all those cds with plants glued to them?

Beautiful! Like you said the basing recipe is looking good and I really like what you're doing with the contrast paints. I heard they are not that easy to work with to.

I agree with them! Some really interesting, bright, varied colour schemes and the bases look excellent and tie all the figures together!
