Converted fantasy weapons
« on: December 04, 2017, 08:23:22 PM »
I've seen a lot of different conversions to fantasy weapons From
Swords painted blue to represent power swords,
Wires attached to axes to make power axes
Bows /crossbows converted to compound style
But I've never seen pikes converted?
Anyone heard of any thought it would make some good city merchant bodyguards etc.

Come to think of it I don’t think I’ve ever seen powered pikes... Halberds, yes, but not pikes. It’s probably hard to balance a very long spike with some sort of meaty looking power pack.

If I was to do it, I would run some guitar wire from a nice sci-fi backpack into the shaft of the pike, or some thin wire from the pack into a coil around the top half of the shaft up to the point.

The powered halberd sound neat.

Naginita?

You could use the power pack as a counterweight on the other end of the pike.

It would depend on why they would work in combat.

Before reliable firearms you could advance as a pike block and only an opposing pike block could stop you. If you had a Dune style shield or other physics mangling technobabble that prevented ranged weapons from operating they would be useful.

Grey Wombles have them combined with double barreled carbine bolters.

I thought I had a photograph of one, but I do not.

Have a look at the GW site.
