WW2 Romanians in summer dress by Tsuba Miniatures
« on: December 07, 2017, 04:36:55 PM »
Okay, the first release is apparently finally and ready for sale...although getting hold of Markus via email is proving not good....

This is what Markus says on his blog about the new WW2 Romanians:

"The miniatures of the first sets are intended for the earlier part of the fightings on the Eastern Front, i.e. the years 1941 and 1942, when Romania formed a substantial part of the Axis' forces during Unternehmen Barbarossa. The miniatures are depicting soldiers in summer dress. Some of the most noticeable battles these miniatures would be suitable for surely are the Siege of Odessa (1941), the Siege of Sevastopol (1941-1942) and the opening stages of the Battle of Stalingrad (1942-1943).

All the sculpting work (miniatures + weapon masters) was done by Kosta Heristanidis. The master of the PPSh-41 SMG is used under licence from Kosta, while the master of the MP 40 SMG is used with kind permission of Eureka Miniatures.
If you are looking for opponents for the Romanians, have a look at Eureka Miniatures Soviet. The range is also sculpted by Kosta and a perfect match for our Romanians!

Moulding and casting of the masters was done by Eureka Miniatures in Australia, while the production moulds and castings are done by Hagen Miniatures in Germany.

The painted examples were painted by maestro Andrew Taylor (who already painted all the German Revolution and China Town sets)."

Here are some photos of the new figures:

And Markus says there will be more Romanians to come, stating on his blog that,

"Planned for the next wave are:
- AT-gun with crew
- 75mm field gun with crew
- sniper team
- flamethrower team

Potential future additions are two sets of cavalry, a second set of SMG-armed soldiers (with Beretta M1938a and Orita M1941 SMGs), a medium or heavy mortar team, tank busters, a tank crew, ..."

So support this great looking range and get your Romanian Army into the field. Next we need a dedicated range of Hungarians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI, I have no affiliation with Markus or Tsuba Minis, heck, I can't even get my own emails answered...but this looks like a great range and needs our support!  ;)

Yes, looking very good. Great to see other than the usual big players of WW2 done in miniature. Now, if only somebody would make proper Finns of WW2 in 28mm ... well, one can dream *sigh*

Between these and the Great Escape Games ones, we are really spoiled for choices on Romanians now! It only took a couple decades!

Hi all,

Yes, these are great looking figures and you can buy them direct (as I have now done) from Markus at Tsuba Minis by contacting him on: Tsuba-Miniatures@gmx.de

Again, no affiliation with Tsuba other than really wanting some quality WW2 Romanians and these definitely fit the bill!!!!!!!!!!

So support this range with your wallets, as otherwise there will be no 2nd wave of figs! ;)

Very nicely painted. Do we know what colours were used?

Once I've finished the Eureka Russians I have, these could be next on the list...
