Definetly an improvement!

I always highlight after wash. Actually, I only wash the basecoat, and then start doing the layers, starting with the colour that I used for the basecoat. Slow, but controlled.

Thanks, it does do quite a bit and I am enjoying painting the fantasy miniatures.

Been out of black spray for awhile so stuck painting what I had primed, and thus went back to add to my Mordheim gang. So I've tossed together a version of my Champion Willhelm which can be seen earlier, for when he adopts proper heavy armour and uniform in the future. This one came together right easy and I feel fairly happy with it.

I appear to have lost the old pictures of the elves so here they are as of now.

I'm liking the kit bashing you've been doing. GW plastics are great for this :-)

Dug out some Citadel LOTR miniatures from a decade ago as I've gotten into Tolkien's works again recently. First up working on some Nazgul, although I seem to have lost 3 out of the 9. Need to spice up the baze a bit but do not have any suitable tufts currently.

Tried putting some paint on an orc, so far ending up really dark and minimalist. A bit torn on the style.

Orcs breed quickly in the hellish pits of Mordor.

And in a wholly different realm a man of honour rises.

Nice figures made from the kits. Painting is looking good.

Another orc join the fray.

Back from a long hiatus from any painting, but I continue to enjoy working with the more dark/earthy colours.

Found and purchased Joseph A. McCullough's Rangers of the Shadow Deep recently and it so far it has kept me inspired and working on my miniatures at a, for me, rapid speed oncemore. It's coop nature and setting is quite appealing to me who have always wanted my miniature wargames to be quite close to a roleplaying session. Here are a number of the miniatures I have put together so far preparing to try and convince my local buddies to play it with me.

I really like the rock golems, is there a nuance to the smooshing of the cork or is it just little by little till you are happy, and did you use cork tiles or cork bark?

For these ones I am actually breaking off pieces from one of those cork lumps you wrap the sandpaper around to get a proper grip. Not sure of the exact terminology in english but it allows for bigger chunks. There is no particular nuance beyond working on the smooth areas, either by stabbing it a few times to create irregularities or by using that side to glue two oieces together. In general I went for each foot being one piece, then the leg one piece, torso can be one or two glues together and each arm is two segments, generally arm and then "hand." I use spackle at the joints to strengthen the build as it is very fragile otherwise and comes off as suitably rocky.

And here are my latest addition to my collection of fantasy creatures.
