Condottiere early battles
« on: December 19, 2017, 11:04:02 PM »
Any suggestions for good websites or scenario books to put together Italian battles from 1300 to 1400?

I'm not looking for deep history, just enough info on terrain and troop types and numbers to set up evening battles.

Thanks

Michael Mallett, Mercenaries and their Masters.

Background to the period, and some discussion of battles.

Hi, The Condottieri by Geoffrey Trease is an oldie but a goodie and you should be able to get ypur hands on it pretty cheap and Vendetta by Hugh Bocheno provides a wealth of background  information as well as detailing the Gonzaga-Malatesta rivalry in the 15th century.

cheers Pete
