They were fun to paint, and mixed the shades of the clothing so that the uniforms would look similar but not identical. I've found the Foundry Soviet Summer Tan triad pretty good on a Zandri Dust basecoat, with mixing of other paints to create different hues.

With 500 points done, it's time for a game or two of Bolt Action to get the feel of the rules, then more soviets and a T-34!
