I've never played Zombicide! It's more loosely based around the sort of concepts you see in things like Space Crusade or Warhammer Quest where you turn over 'encounter' type cards when you enter a room etc. We had discussed ways in which to do this without having to instantly flood a table with a million xeno's and also help maintain that 'threat' atmosphere. This seemed to be the most simple way of doing it.

It's not a perfect parallel, but a mechanic in Zombicide that accomplishes similar things has led to sometimes intense, sometimes hilarious, and always entertaining game moments. Either way, I'm excited to see how your idea plays out in test games!

Not a huge bit of progress but the main structure to the base of the landing pad is now done.

With the basis of the wear and damage added.

With leadbelcher, typhus corrosion and ryza rust added.

However, on the day, these will not be used. The plan is to use HF Mawes, but I am not painting those up and as I will continue to playtest ideas etc for a little while as well as shoot photo's of the terrain I figured I would include them as they are what I will be using for my game.

Hasslefree Mawes are awesome models, it's a very nice choice!  ;)

Just a little update. Landing pad pretty much done now. Only thing left are the fuel link to the pad itself and the barriers around the pad.

Plodding on continues (I realised after taking the photos that the platypus tail had fallen off, but it's been fixed now  :D):

Fits in so well it took me a while to place it!
I like the Hasslefree Mesaan Big Guys (now Macrocosm I believe) for aliens.
This is moving along really nicely.

That’s looking very good, especially like the weathering approach.  Will look forward to seeing this in the flesh.

Looks good.

That troop carrier does fit in well (it was the only thing I liked in the prequel films).

Thanks for the kind words.

@Levied Troop - the idea is for this to be a bit of a remote outpost. The plan is for a refinery type building (which I am working on the start of today), this landing pad, some pipelines and some other pieces of terrain scattered around them. I may also include a 3rd TT combat tower - I have two more other than those mentioned that I could add, but I don't want to over-do the height aspect too much. The weathering is simple - I have been playing around with different techniques but the fastest and easiest is using a bit of sponge from a carry case tray and sponge it on, dragging it in some cases over the edges which gives that feeling of eroding with the elements. I'm also using art acrylic - Reeves Burnt Umber. I then add a bit of gun metal and GW's ryza rust effect which is really good for adding that orange rust.

Re the drop ship - I don't think it's made anymore, it's an old Revell easy build 1/72 kit. It was less than £10 in a sale so couldn't pass it up. I do wish I hadn't excitedly built it, as snap fit tends to mean hard to unbuild!! but it is very nice, I have added some landing pads for it to be able to sit and land.

Cheers! I blame you for all of this, I really do  lol

I was trying to work out how many I helped you with and how many I have done overall. This will be the fourth game on the HF table - two with your BFBC2 boards, two with boards I have built. Then I did the sci fi one the year before that. Then I seem to remember; Planet of the Apes, Fantasy WW1, BFBC2 . . . . have I missed anything?

Sounds about right....sorry.

 lol

In truth, I’ve enjoyed having a break from running Salute games ...very rewarding, but bloody hard work.

Maybe I’ll find something that catches my eye enough to run another one soon.

May not seem like much, but it's the start of a tall piece of terrain that hopefully will resemble some sort of sci fi industrial refinery type building.
