Thanks. Not so much a battle, but the first brigade in the mahdist forces. More as they are completed (both sides)

Finally got around to some more Hadendoa to finish that part of the force

and added some Egyptians whilst I was at it:

Had some British lined up on the table. More photos when those are done. Might even got some games at some point, who knows??

Lovely photos. I especially like the crisp bright look of Egyptian ones. It looks like real sunlight, is that what you used rather than lamps? A great effect, however you got it. Really looks like they're in a hot desert country.

Nice to see an all-Beja force, too, like they actually were. Too many of us fall to the temptation of mixing up our Beja tribesmen in an army with Ansar in Jibbahs, which I'm pretty sure never happened. It's understandable, because we want all the toys on our table, but historically it should be guys in white frocks or Fuzzy Wuzzies, rather than both together.

Thanks both!

The Egyptian pics were in sunlight, yes, which means they probably got photographed at the weekend and the other two would be in the evening.

I do actually have a whole brigade of Ansar to work on next, as my Beja and Ansar are more or less two self contained forces which will make a larger whole. Flexible choice of forces that way :)
