Operation Sealion
« on: January 04, 2018, 07:41:16 PM »
I have decided to start a thread on the Project I am trying to do this year
I have just started a new job recently and my hobby time is really cut back, so don't look for any quick builds or loads of updates, It will be a slow burner.
I have already got some Home guard and I also have some BEF both from warlord, for opposition I have some German Infantry and have recently purchased some plastic Fallschirmjager but the first problem I have is that the figures don't come with the right MG. All the warlord figures I have have the MG 42 but I have some spare MG 34 from my stalled Africa Corps, Perry figures, that I thought I would try them out for size.
What do you think

I have since bought some plastic Blitzkrieg pioneers with MG34 so I should be able to use them as well.

Also been painting some of the metal Fallschirmjager

Using my new Omni-visor
What do you think?

Like the painting on the ammo belts draped over the shoulder.

Looking good Colin. I started a similar project after playing Giles' game at BLAM 2016 but work commitments crushed it. I still chip away at it from time to time.
Just to make things more interesting I'm doing it in 20mm and 28mm.

What ruleset are you going for?

Anyway, I'll follow this thread as I know it's going to be good..................... and I'll copy everything you do!  lol
Don't!

Excellent Colin, I've used a visor for years and the only problem is once you've started using it you can't ever go back to not using it :)

Thanks guys
I thought about doing it in 20 mm but I prefer the idea of small skirmish type games, I have figure scales for both sizes
I have the bolt action rules so will probably use them
I am also working away from home at the moment so there won't be any quick updates

I think that you have made  a good decision regarding scale of figures and the scope of the game. In this way you can make use of varied smaller groups and this means a lot more colour on table to me.
